Koh Samui at 280 Km2 is the largest island of the Gulf of Thailand .

It is part of an archipelago of 80 smaller islands of which only 6 are inhabited. It is an island of coconut plantations, jungle and forested hills, chalk mountains culminating at 636 meters and of course beautiful beaches. Its jungle, hills and waterfalls create a variety of landscapes rarely found on other islands.


In spite of Samui’s growing tourist development visitors will find a far more laid back and tropical natural environment here than other tourist areas such as Phuket or Pattaya. On Samui you will never be far from the beach or the mountains and local laws prohibit buildings from being built higher than a coconut palm tree.

Samui is a rapidly growing gay holiday and residential destination. Gay life on Samui is more relaxing and quieter than those of Pattaya and Phuket. More and more gay people are choosing to come and live on Samui, both ex-pats and Thai nationals. Lots of gay Thai men have regular jobs in the hospitality industry, medicine,engineering, and many mange and run their own businesses. Gay bars, cabaret clubs and disco are more laid back, open, friendly and accessible.

Samui’s best beaches line the northern and eastern coasts, the most popular being Bophut, Chaweng and Lamai. Most gay businesses listed on this web site will be found in a semi circle stretching from Bophut on the north coast to Chaweng on the east coast. The largest concentration of gay businesses are in close proximity to
each other in South Chaweng opposite the Centara Grand Beach Resort. Three of Samui’s best gay venues are now located on the same Soi (Thai name for small street). This is a small walking only street 100 m north of the entrance to Centara Grand Beach Resort.

As you would expect form a tropical island many visitors come to Samui to explore the natural beauty of the area both on land, on sea and underwater. The region of famous for its calm clear waters, millions of coconut trees and undisturbed islands and beaches.
